Good Morning Miss Dove: For a few generations, a small town spinster schoolteacher has felt and helped condition lives of her learners. Now hospitalized, her past is exposed through flashbacks. Solar Crisis: Futuristic sci-fi thriller with Matheson leading a save the Earth mission to the sun to stop a solar flash from annihilating the world. Fine visual effects and suspenseful tale in space harmed by world pranks of poor boy Boyle who preposterously desires to undermine the mission. Holiday Affair: Well-finished Christmas time tale of war widow Leigh, with a small child, who's helped by good guy Corey. Cast includes Robert Mitchum, Janet Leigh, Wendell Corey, Gordon Gebert, Griff Barnett, Esther Dale, Henry O'Neill, and Henry Harry Morgan. (87 minutes,'49)
Border Shootout: Ignorant rancher is made deputy in Arizona boundary town that's tired of aging sheriff Ford; however the townspeople's lynching of supposed rustlers brings about instant conflict. Here is an excellent Western plot from the Elmore Leonard novel that is wrecked by amateurish production. Cast includes Cody Glenn, Jeff Kaake, Glenn Ford, Elizabeth Rohovit, Michael Horse, Russell Todd, Michael Ansara, and Michael Forrest. (110 minutes,'90)
The Reward: Pledging premise and excellent cast led awry in static Western. A group of bounty hunters turn on each other, as greed for bigger share of prize money motivates them into conflict. Cast includes Max von Sydow, Yvette Mimieux, Efrem Zimbalist, Gilbert Roland, Emilio Fernandez, Henry Silva, and Rodolfo Acosta. (92 minutes,'65)
Cry for Me Billy: A drifter falls in love with an Indian gal, with catastrophic repercussions, in this vicious Western. Its title and supposed year of release keeps changing, however the film doesn't get some any better. Cast includes Harry Dean Stanton, and Don Wilbanks. (93 minutes,'72)
A Fan's Notes: Bewildered, football-infatuated author becomes disenchanted with the Incredible American Fantasy of prosperity and compliance, and ends up in an insane asylum. A poor rendition of Frederick Exley's highly considered novel. Cast includes Jerry Orbach, Burgess Meredith, Patricia Collins, Julia Ann Robinson, and Rosemary Murphy. (100 minutes,'72)
Dinner for Adele: Genuinely wacky film that finds idol Notch Carter in Prague in the year'00 examining a killing spree that ultimately leads to carnivorous plant identified as Adele. A tongue in cheek film is finished in the style of a quiet melodrama. Cast includes Rudolf Hrusinsky, Milos Kopecky, Nada Konvalinkova, and Ladislav Pesek. (100 minutes,'78)
Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no "invasion" in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision.
