A Simple Solution To Make Home Made Solar Cells

It is easy to make home made solar cells. These are cells that can be useful for helping to power small items you have. It is also very easy to build one of these cells. You can work with a jar as well as some copper sheets and water.
The use of a copper sheet is vital for the process. Copper can work to receive energy with ease. This is not going to be as strong as silicon, a material used in professionally made cells. Silicon sheets are not easy to find though. As a result you should use copper in this process so that it will be more effective.
When working with your copper sheet it will need to be cut into a square shape. An ideal size will be between six to eight inches. After cutting this material you will have to wash your hands. This is so that any materials you got on them when cutting will not impact the sheet. If these materials impact the copper then the solar cell will not work as well.
After cutting and washing the copper sheet will need to be cleaned off. The grease on the sheet should be removed so it can work. The use of an emery cloth can work to sand the sheet down too. Next you can heat the sheet so that the material will continue to be handled. When this is heated a new cuprous oxide layer will appear.
When you finish heating the cuprous oxide layer will come in a black layer. After the material cools off the layer can be removed. It will need to be used later though. After the layer is removed you will see the main energy storage layer. This is a layer that has a rust colored appearance.
Next you will need to get the copper to be curved along a jar. The right curve will be needed for the sheet so that it can contour with the jar. Fortunately the thin build of the copper sheet will be useful. The cuprous oxide should be placed here as well. For the best results you should have parts of the regular and cuprous oxide sheets exposed.
You should put an alligator clip onto each plate. You can then put the clip from the clean copper plate onto a positive energy terminal. The clip on the cuprous oxide plate should be on the negative terminal. This is so the energy can be created from the cell.
The water that is used is the last thing to use here. Water that has salt should be poured into the jar. When this works you can get your jar to go into the sunlight. This will work to help get the entire material to create new energy.
It is easy to work on creating a solar cell at your own home. You can use this process to create a cell that can power small home items. It is one that you will be able to use for your own needs.
